BISE Rawalpindi Matric 2026 Result: 61.31% Pass Rate, Girls Outperform Boys

BISE Rawalpindi Matric 2026 Result 61.31 Pass Rate, Girls Outperform Boys

(Updated: 7th Aug, 2026)The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Rawalpindi announced the Matric (SSC Part-II) result for the First Annual Examination 2026 on August 6. Out of 121,397 students who had enrolled, 120,411 appeared in the exam, and 73,829 passed. This puts the overall pass percentage at 61.31%.

Among those who appeared, 944 candidates were absent, and the results of 42 candidates were cancelled due to irregularities.

Science group did better than General group

Students in Rawalpindi board study in two main groups: Science and General (Arts). The Science group had a clearly higher pass rate.

  • Science group: 95,896 students appeared, 61,007 passed — a pass rate of 63.60%.
  • General group: 24,515 students appeared, 12,822 passed — a pass rate of 52.30%.

There was also a big gap between regular students (those studying in a recognised school) and private candidates (those who prepared on their own).

  • Regular Science candidates: 72.56% pass rate.
  • Private Science candidates: 38.45% pass rate.
  • Regular General candidates: 60.31% pass rate.
  • Private General candidates: 35.87% pass rate.

This gap is common in Punjab’s boards. Students who attend regular classes usually get more practice with past papers and classroom support, which tends to reflect in their results.

Girls outperformed boys across every category

Just like in most Punjab boards this year, female students in Rawalpindi did better than male students, in both groups.

Academic Group Pass Rates by Gender
Group Girls’ Pass Rate Boys’ Pass Rate
Science 75.60% 53.80%
General 57.60% 35.90%
Overall 70.18% 51.99%

In the Science group, 43,218 girls appeared and 32,656 passed, compared to 52,678 boys who appeared with 28,351 passing. In the General group, 18,501 girls appeared and 10,661 passed, while 6,014 boys appeared and 2,161 passed.
