Class 9 Re-Admission Rules Just Changed in These Punjab Boards

BISE Multan and BISE Faisalabad have opened online-only re-admission for Class 9 students who failed or want a fresh start. Other Punjab boards, including Lahore, haven’t announced their dates yet.

Punjab’s education boards have started announcing the Class 9 re-admission schedule for the 2026–2028 academic session. So far, BISE Multan and BISE Faisalabad have issued official notifications. Other boards, including BISE Lahore, have not yet published their dates.

This re-admission process is for two kinds of students. First, those who failed, stayed absent, or scored below the required marks in the Class 9 First Annual Examination 2026. Second, students who passed but want to improve their marks or switch their subject group, for example from Science to Arts.

Who can apply

A student must already have a registration card or roll number from their board. Students applying only to improve marks do not need to cancel their earlier result. But students re-taking the exam after failing must have their previous result cancelled first. According to the Multan Board’s notification, a result can only be cancelled once within five years of its announcement. A student who has already appeared in or passed a higher class exam cannot apply for Class 9 re-admission.

No more paper forms

This year’s biggest change is that Punjab boards will not accept manual, handwritten admission forms. Schools must submit all student data through their board’s online portal. BISE Multan has confirmed it will not accept manual registration returns at all. Institutions that don’t submit required hard-copy documents on time can also face extra weekly charges from some boards.

BISE Multan: key dates and fees

  • Regular deadline: September 17, 2026
  • Regular fee: Rs. 2,200
  • Late deadline: October 19, 2026
  • Late fee: Rs. 4,200 (this includes a Rs. 2,000 fine)
  • Manual submissions: Not accepted

BISE Faisalabad: key dates and fees

  • Application window: September 3 to October 2, 2026
  • Re-admission fee: Rs. 2,100
  • Schools can check notifications on the BISE Faisalabad News Portal

BISE Lahore: schedule not yet announced

BISE Lahore handles its registrations through its own online portal and posts official schedules on its notifications page. As of publication, no specific Class 9 re-admission dates or fees for the 2026–28 session had been found on these pages. Students and schools under the Lahore Board should check these official pages directly rather than relying on dates meant for other boards.

What about Rawalpindi and Sargodha?

The available information does not include confirmed re-admission dates for BISE Rawalpindi or BISE Sargodha. Students under these boards should wait for an official notification from their own board rather than assuming Multan or Faisalabad dates apply to them.

Why this matters for parents and schools

Missing the regular deadline pushes a student straight into the late-fee tier, which roughly doubles the cost. For a family already managing school fees, that difference — for example, Rs. 2,000 more at Multan — is significant. Since forms are no longer accepted on paper, schools also need to make sure their institutional login on the board’s portal is active well before the deadline, not on the last day.

Because this is a fast-moving story, and several major boards have not yet announced their schedules, readers should treat this as a developing situation. Details may change, and Pak Pulse will update this article as more boards release their notifications.
