Naran, Kaghan — 15 August 2026 – Petrol is being sold for Rs. 340 per litre at a petrol pumps in Naran on Saturday, according to an on-ground report by The Pak Pulse correspondent.
The price is Rs 15 higher than the official rate of Rs 325 per litre and around Rs 13 higher than the Rs 327 rate being seen at some petrol pumps in Punjab.
The correspondent also found that hotel prices in Naran had eased after the heavy rush around 14 August. At the same time, tourist activity remained high and traffic was heavy across the town.
Petrol costs Rs 340 per litre in Naran
The petrol price is one of the main concerns for people travelling to Naran.
Our correspondent is reporting daily updates from Naran, the displayed petrol price at a Naran pump was Rs 340 per litre. This means a visitor filling a 20-litre vehicle tank would pay about Rs 300 more in Naran than at a Rs 325 benchmark.
The Rs 340 figure is an on-ground price observed by The Pak Pulse correspondent. It is not being presented as a separate government-set petrol price for Naran.

Hotel rates fall after the 14 August rush
Hotel prices in Naran have also changed.
The correspondent reported that rooms had previously reached around Rs 8,000 to Rs 9,000 during the recent rush.
By the morning of 15 August, lower rates were available.
The reported prices were:
- Rs 3,500–4,000 for the cheapest or smaller rooms
- Rs 4,000–5,500 for mid-range hotels
- Around Rs 7,000 for a better hotel

The reported fall is significant compared with the Rs 8,000–9,000 rates mentioned for the earlier peak period. Naran remains busy despite lower hotel rates
The correspondent reported long queues of vehicles entering Naran. Traffic was coming from both the main road and the bypass. Naran Bazaar was also busy during the morning. Traffic around hotels was a particular problem. Vehicles turning towards hotels were causing congestion and adding to delays on the main road.
The bypass provides a faster route for travellers continuing towards Batakundi and Babusar Top, while the main road gives easier access to the Naran market.
Babusar Top and Lalazar reported open
The correspondent also checked the situation at major tourist points.
According to the 15 August on-ground report:
- Babusar Top was open
- Lalazar was open
- Other tourist points were also reported open
- No major tourist point was reported closed at the time of the visit
Jeep fares for tourist destinations
The correspondent also reported the following jeep fares:
- Kawai to Shogran Rs 6,000
- Batakundi to Lalazar Rs 4,500
- Lake Saif-ul-Muluk Rs 5,500–6,000
Naran received light rain during the early morning, according to the correspondent. The weather later improved, with sunshine and more pleasant conditions.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department’s forecast for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa covering 14 to 18 August 2026 included rain and thunderstorms in several areas, including Mansehra, with occasional gaps.

Tourist activity remains strong. Babusar Top and Lalazar were reported open and Naran continued to see heavy traffic after the 14 August holiday.
